This day last year, the children of TLM, their carers and staff were waking up with bellies full of cake, hearts full of love and spirits full of joy. The night previous had been the first annual Tumaini La Maisha Festival in partnership with our friends at Nafasi Art Space. Attended by more than 500 guests and raising more than 8 million Tanzanian Shillings, the Festival was a huge success (and so much fun!) The festival was born of an idea to expand the psycho-social treatment offered to children being treated for cancer at Upendo/Tumaini Ward to include even more art and music therapy. TLM’s annual Galway Summer Ball is one of our favourite night of the year and this year, our fourth, was no exception!!! Together we raised over €20,000 and on the night we welcomed 115 guests! The ball brings together friends, old and new, many of whom have made the journey to Tanzania to volunteer or work with us. We appreciate all of the wonderful people who attended and continue to support us whether by donating raffle prizes or through music and dance!
