We just can't wait to get back on that road again!
We are so incredibly excited that our first outreach training has taken place in the Lindi region of Tanzania, south of Dar es Salaam. Dr Salama Mahawi, Dr Chambega Chambega, Nurse Magreth Msafiri and our driver and programme assistant Reuben Kasiga hit the road on Sunday 4th of October in the Toyota Prado pictured which was so generously donated by our friends at ESBI. DFA’s Chloë Horne suggested TLM as a worthy charity when approached by our friends at ESBI and we could not be more grateful! Massive thank you to ESBI’s Francois Pienaar and Dave Shepherd for this invaluable asset that has already made a difference for children’s cancer care in Tanzania!
The purpose of the training was: to engage with health workers in the Lindi region and take a deep dive into the early warning signs of childhood cancers, the importance of rapid diagnosis and referral to appropriate treatment sites, treatment options and palliative care as well as sharing experiences and learnings. We are so grateful to our wonderful team who made the important journey and shared their knowledge, to Pan African Energy who are supporting our outreach and expansion to Lindi and again to Francois and Dave!
