My name is Dr. Furaha Serventi. I am an Oncologist and radiation Specialist. Currently, I am the Head of the KCMC Oncology Department and the Cancer Care Center.
KCMC hosts one of the few Cancer Treatment Centers in Tanzania. In our department, we seen and treat children with cancers who are unable to afford treatment costs due to financial constraints in their families.
This year, 2024, I am planning to run the Kilimanjaro International half marathon (21km) in order to raise funds for Tumaini La Maisha (TLM), a charitable organization that has been funding treatment and care of Pediatric patients with various cancers in various hospitals in Tanzania. Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center is a beneficiary to this support.
The main aim of TLM is to “avail treatment to every child” with cancer in Tanzania, regardless of the economic status of their families.
With this introduction, let me kindly request for your support to TLM to continue the good work of treating children with cancer.
