Hi all! My name is Lucie and I am from the Czech Republic. This year, I´m running the Kilimanjaro International Marathon to fundraise for TLM, supporting the children’s cancer care at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre.
I’ve never run such a distance in my life before, however! I am just 100% sure I can do it, because my motivation is much deeper than a PR. I run with an open heart and a love of sport with an important mission to help those who are most in need.
Who am I and how did I come to the beautiful country of Tanzania? I study International development at Mendel university, Brno and this year I am doing research based on an important topic of – Community-based wildlife conservation and ecosystem services here. The moment I found out during my stay in Africa this amazing event is taking place I simply thought I have to stand there. By supporting me, you will be standing at the starting line on 25th February with me together, being all part of this important mission.
